Who We Are

Webster University's Center for Innovation and Professional Development (CIPD) is designed to develop, promote, coordinate, and support a wide range of collaborative and consultative projects, programs, and partnerships in the public and private sectors. The Center will enable Webster University to develop innovative non-credit and interdisciplinary for-credit programs and initiatives beyond its traditional for-credit programs, courses and markets.

    Yes.  Complete the course with the required passing rate and receive a certificate of completion from Webster University.
  • Is this a degree program?

    No, this is not a degree program.  However, our courses will compliment many classes, or help you transition into the workforce with training in nationally recognized programs.
  • Is there financial assistance available?

    You could qualify for financial assistance through your employer or third-party providers.  Also make sure to check out the Military Spouse program.
  • Who teaches your courses?

    Our courses are taught by instructors who are leaders in their fields and university professors who understand the needs of professionals and small business owners.

Our Team

John Pyle, EdD

Chief IO/VP of Enrollment

Dr. Pyle holds a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Saint Mary’s University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Immaculata College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Spanish minor from Kutztown University. Pyle completed the Institute for Educational Management at the Harvard Institute for Higher Education.

Joe Roberts, PhD

Director

Dr. Joe Roberts received his PhD from University of Chicago. He is Chair of The Management Department and also serves as Director of The Entrepreneurship Program. His work includes presenting entrepreneurship and innovation workshops and seminars in China, Taiwan, Russia, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Estonia, Finland and India.

Gary Renz, JD PhD

Director

Dr. Gary Renz has a BS from the University of Minnesota, a Juris Doctor from UCLA, and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. His areas of teaching include human resources management, organizational behavior, leadership, and law. Dr. Renz' areas of research include leadership, emotions, motivation, staffing, compensation, and law.
